Sewing goals for 2012 reviewed
I made a modest list of things I hoped to achieve with the sewing in 2012. My goals were there just to help me stay focused - so they weren’t at all rigid and allowed for inspiration. Here’s how I did:
- make more wearables ✔ - made cropped trousers, overalls, tops
- wear more of what I make ✔ - I wore trousers and overalls the most
- try patterns from Burdastyle magazine ✔ - made cropped trousers, shorts, dress
- connect with other people that sew ✔ - attended Crafters’ Ceilidh in Edinburgh, want to do more of this
- learn some basics about fitting and pattern adjustments ✔ - always learning with each project, want to continue learning
- Liberty print jacket or top
- emerald green ✔ - green jacket
- piping
- Zooey Deschanel influenced dress/outfit
- dress that looks like separates ✔ - Liberty print/teal dress
- classic 50s style dress (bateau neckline with full skirt)
- fabric not previously sewn with ✔ - used needlecord & faux fur
All those I didn’t manage I’ll carry over to 2013, as well as some that I wish to continue. I’ll also be adding a few more goals to the list.
